We are pleased to announce that version 1.07 for Switchback VR is now available on PlayStation VR2, as of 13:00 UTC yesterday, October 17th.
This update not only includes fixes for various issues reported to us by the community but also additional gameplay improvements to enhance the experience for all players. It also introduces a brand-new nightmarish mode – Horde Mode – to the game, dragging you back down into hell to fight off against waves of increasingly harder enemies.
Please find more information on this in the patch notes below.
PATCH DOWNLOAD SIZE
The estimated download size for the patch on PS5 is 8.459 GB.
This update should install automatically, but if not, you can manually start the download by highlighting the Switchback VR icon on your PlayStation 5 dashboard, pressing the Options button on your controller, and then selecting “Check for Update” from the list displayed. The download will then start.
Please be aware that there may be some variance in this download size dependent upon the game version you currently have installed.
PLAYGO ISSUE
Please be advised that an issue has been identified with the “PlayGo” functionality for Switchback VR, whereby the game may crash at the end of “Maiden Voyage” if this feature is used to start playing the game before it is fully installed. This is currently being investigated and the development team are actively working on a fix.
To avoid this issue, if installing Switchback VR for the first time, please ensure that the game is fully installed and updated before opening it using the “Play Game” button on your PlayStation 5 home screen. Gameplay should then proceed as intended without a crash once “Maiden Voyage” has been completed.
